    Error Message:
    Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network or modem problems, or a long period of inactivity.
    To reconnect, re-establish any modem connection if necessary, then choose Connect on the File menu.

    Possible Causes:

    Possibilty 1: This could be due to inactivity on the newsgroup at user end, therefore, the server has disconnected any terminals that is not active for about 10 minutes. This is to prevent user hogging the bandwidth that is not longer required. Go to Solution 1:

    Possibilty 2: If you are accessing from home, there is a possibility that your Dial-up connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) has dropped. Go to Solution 2:

  1. Click OK.

    2. When you click on an unread message, an error message appears which is circled in red.

  2. In Outlook Express, choose Connect on the File menu.

    Solution 2:

  1. Re-establish your modem/dial-up connection.

  2. In Outlook Express, choose Connect on the File menu.
